Ford Bronco Baja Prototype

Officially, dealers know about as much as the public when it comes to ‘official’ 2021 Ford Bronco News, and Rtown Ford is no different. We’re excited to have buyers in Randallstown, Baltimore, Owings Mills and all of Baltimore County driving the revolutionary new SUV, but we have to wait for the latest information, like everyone else.

That said, there are multiple media reports this month that of a couple of things…

The new Bronco could have a 7-speed transmission?

A report from TFLCar, subsequently published on CNET.com indicates a 7-speed MANUAL transmission could be in the works. While some high-performance sports cars like the Porsche 911 and Corvette have 7-speed manual transmissions for enhanced high-speed performance, the extra gear in the upcoming Bronco could serve as a low-range, or crawl gear, and eliminate the need for a 2-speed transfer case. That could also reduce weight and complexity with the long-awaited off-roader. Or, an extra cog could give a low-range transfer case a crazy low crawling gear.

Did President Trump get a sneak peek at the new Bronco?

We may never know, but the Commander-In-Chief did visit Ford’s Rawsonville Plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., where Ford factory workers are not only building 50,000 ventilators to help with the Covid-19 outbreak, but vehicle parts, as well. There are conflicting reports whether President Trump got a glimpse, but if he did, we’re VERY jealous.

The Covid-19 crisis has shifted the announcement dates, but we’ll keep you posted. Watch for the latest information here at RtownFord.com and our Official Rtown Ford Bronco page at https://www.prestonfordwest.com/Coming-Soon-2021-Ford-Bronco.html
