A Champion On and Off the Field
At Preston Ford West, we believe in showing up for the community, lifting others up, and driving meaningful change. This season, we were proud to continue our support of Breakthrough T1D™, a leading organization funding life-changing research and accelerating the path toward cures for type 1 diabetes. With a $10,000 donation and continued partnership with Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews, we’re helping bring awareness, resources, and hope to families affected by type 1 diabetes across the region.
For Mark Andrews, this fight is personal. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just nine years old, Mark has never let his diagnosis limit his potential. Instead, he’s become a role model for millions, proving that you can live boldly and chase your dreams, no matter the obstacles. We’re honored to partner with someone whose story inspires so many, including families right here in our own community.
Rallying for a Cure
Earlier this year, our team participated in the Breakthrough T1D Walk in Baltimore, showing up in full force to support the cause. It was a day full of energy, connection, and compassion—one that reminded us all how powerful it can be when people come together with a shared purpose.
A VIP Huddle with Mark Andrews
On Thursday, July 17, we took things one step further, hosting an exclusive event at Preston Ford West for families from Breakthrough T1D’s Mid-Atlantic chapter. Guests were invited to a private meet-and-greet with Mark Andrews. From autograph signings to heartfelt conversations, the evening was filled with stories of strength, laughter, and connection. It wasn’t just about meeting a football star; it was about seeing someone who truly understands the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, and who continues to shine on and off the field.
